DAY 01 : ARRIVE BANGKOK

Arrive to Bangkok Airport, meet and greet with local guide. Then transfer to the hotel for check in and give some more information about your trip in Bangkok.

DAY 02 : GRAND PALACE + THONBURI CANAL & JIM THOMPSON HOUSE / DINNER CRUISE

Depart from hotel to Rattanakosin Island, the original area of Bangkok when it was first established as the capital over 200 years ago.

Visit Wat Trimit, known for its famous Golden Buddha. The beautiful image of solid gold is three metres high and weighs five and a half tons.

Visit Wat Pho (Temple of the Reclining Buddha), founded in the 16th century, the oldest and biggest temple with the largest number of pagodas (95 in all) in the city. Wat Pho was the first open university of Thailand which offered courses in several branches of knowledge like literature, astrology, medicine and massage. It’s well known for its huge Reclining Buddha, 46 m. long and 15 m. high.

Take a comfortable long-tail motor boat trip along the Chao Phraya River and canals in Thonburi area. You will be treated to a spectacular and colorful scenery of Thai life along the river banks.

Visit to Wat Arun, the Temple of Dawn, is one of Bangkok's best know landmark. It stands on the west bank of the Chao Phraya River in Thon Buri. Wat Arun is best seen from the opposite bank of the river; it glistens in the sunlight during the day and stands dark and noble at dawn or dusk. A visit to the beautiful, peaceful monastery complex surrounding the familiar towers is very worth-while. These towers, the Phra Prang, although best known, the only part of Wat Arun. It also contains narrow lanes; elegant, old white buildings; shrines, pools of turtles; and two fine giants, Yuk Wat Jaeng, mortal enemies of the Yuk Wat Po across the river.

Visit Wat Phra Kaeo, the most beautiful and important Buddhist temple in Thailand. It is so richly and intricately decorated that, once entering the temple, you will feel as if you are in a real city of angel.

Visit The Grand Palace, an area of 218,400 sq. metres and is surrounded by walls built in 1782. The length of the four walls is 1,900 metres. Within these walls are situated government offices and the Chapel Royal of the Emerald Buddha besides the royal residences.

Visit Jim Thompson’s House Museum. This exquisite collection of traditional Thai houses stands as a museum to Jim Thompson, the man who revived the Thai silk industry and founded the Jim Thompson Thai Silk Company. Jim Thompson’s eclectic collection of antiques and artefacts is on permanent exhibition, making this a magnificent tribute to a well-respected and sorely missed legendary figure.

DAY 03 : DAMOEN SADUAK FLOATING MARKET & KANCHANABURI

Depart for Damnoen Saduak, situated 110 Km. west of Bangkok. Your journey commences with a leisurely drive through rice paddies and salt fields.

Arrive Damnoen Saduak Floating Market. Here you will be fascinated by boats of various shapes and sizes used by local merchants to ferry their goods. Your are able to hire small boat board along the market for shopping local products. [small boat is not included]

Depart for Kanchanaburi, located 128 kilometres (80 miles) west of Bangkok. It is Thailand's third largest province with an area of 19,486 square kilometres. The provincial area is mountainous and has the west border next to Myanmar. (2 hours drive)

Visit JEATH War Museum, a realistic depiction of prisoner of war living quarters, with photographic, pictorial and physical memorabilia dating from World War II.

Continue to Kanchanaburi War Cemetery. It contains the remains of 6,982 war prisoners (mostly the British, Dutch, Australian and American) who lost their lives during the construction of the Bridge over the River Kwai and the railway to Burma (The Death Railway).

Train ride on Death Railway through magnificent scenery, passing over the original wooden viaduct constructed by Allied POWs.

Lunch at local restaurant.

Depart for Ayutthaya, located 76 kms. north of Bangkok. It was one of Indo-China's most prosperous cities and is one of Thailand's major historical attractions.
The grandeur of Ayutthaya is reflected by numerous magnificent structures and ruins concentrated in and around the city island surrounded by the Chao Phraya, Pa Sak and Lop Buri Rivers. The area, well conserved as a historical park, has been included in UNESCO's list of World Heritage since 1991.

DAY 04 : AYUTTHAYA HISTORICAL PARK / LOPBURI / PHITSANULOKE

Depart for Ayutthaya Historical Park covers the ruins of the old city of Ayutthaya, Thailand, which was founded in 1350 and was the capital of the country until its destruction by the Burmese army in 1767. The area well conserved as a historical park, has been included in UNESCO's list of World Heritage since 13 December 1981.

Transfer to visit Wat Mahathat is located in front of the Grand Palace to the east, next to Pa Than Bridge. The temple is believed to be one of Ayutthaya’s oldest temples, possibly built by King Boromaraja I (1370-88). Its central prang, of which only the base remains, once rose to a height of 165 feet. Traces of the original stucco decorations can still be seen on some of the surrounding chedis.

Visit Wihan Phra Mongkhon Bophit. Phra Mongkhon Bophit, a large bronze cast Buddha image was originally enshrined in the open area outside the Grand Palace and later covered by a building in the reign of king Songtham. During the fall of Ayutthaya, the building was badly destroyed by fire. The one currently seen was reconstructed, but does not have as beautiful craftmanship as the previous one. The open area east of the sanctuary was where the royal cremation ceremonies took place.

Visit Wat Phra Si Sanphet. This is the most important temple within the Royal Palace compound and the original from which the Temple of the Emerald Buddha in Bangkok has been copied. Three outstanding Ceylonese style pagodas were built during the 15th century to enshrine the ashes of three Ayutthayan kings.

Lunch will be provided at riverside restaurant.

Visit Phra Prang Sam Yod or Lopburi Monkey Temple; best known landmark and provincial symbol. A former Hindu Shrine built in the 13th century in the classic Bayon style of Khmer architecture, the compound comprises three prangs (towers) linked by a corridor.

Visit to San Phra Kan. The Lop-Buri style prangs in front of the temple was built around 1157 when the town came under Khmer rule. The U-Thong style Buddha images on the prang and the large viharn were later added by King Narai the Great.

Visit Wat Phra Sri Rattana Mahathat, temple houses one of Thailand's most beautiful and significant Buddha images; Phra Phudth Chinnaraj. The museum in the temple compound housed a collection of Sukhothai art.

DAY 05 : SUKHOTHAI HISTORICAL PARK / LAMPANG

Transfer from Pitsanulok to Sukhothai (1 hour).

Continue to Sukhothai Historical Park; (1 hour drive) Visit ruins of the royal palaces, Buddhist temples, the city gates, walls, moats, dams, ditches, ponds and canals. Start the historical tour with,

King Ramkhamhaeng Monument; the bronze statue of King Ramkhamhaeng sits on a throne named Phra-Thaen-Manangkhasila-Asana with a record of his life on the base.

Mahathat Temple; the largest temple in Sukhothai consists of a customary main chedi in lotus-bud shape and a ruined viharn.

Si-Sa Wai Temple; was once a Hindu shrine, but later converted into a Buddhist monastery, with three prangs surrounded by a laterite walls.

Traphang-Ngoen Temple; is famous for the square pedestal, main sanctuary, and a four inch standing Buddha image. There is a viharn in the front, and in the east is a pond with an Ubosot.

Sa-Sri Temple; well-known for the Singgalese-style chedi built on an island in the middle of Traphang Trakuan Pond. The Wat has a large viharn containing a stucco Buddha image and at the south stands nine chedis of different sizes.

Sorasak Temple; an inscription in the temple about ‘Augya' that is the rank of a nobleman in Ayutthaya period proved that Sukhothai was once controlled by Ayutthaya.

Sri Chum Temple; has a square mondop which is the main sanctuary containing a monumental Buddha image which measures 11.3 meters wide from knee to knee.

Phra-Phai-Luang Temple; is formerly as a Khmer-Hindu shrine but later converted into a Buddhist monastery and is surrounded by a moat.

Then proceed to Lampang, a unique town that still uses a colorful horse carriage as a mean of today's transport

Then visit Phrathat Lampang Luang Temple; the northern finest temple and best presentation of Lanna style architecture.

DAY 06 : CHIANG RAI / LONG NECK TRIBE VILLAGE / GOLDEN TRIANGLE

Depart for Mae Chan Town and visit to Long Neck Tribe Village; the woman wears several brass rings around their long, slender necks. A woman generally has about twenty or more rings around her neck.

The trip continues to Mae Sai, the Thailand-Myanmar border which is also the northernmost point of Thailand. Enjoy shopping local products from China and Myanmar.

Visit the world famous Golden Triangle where the borders of three countries; Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar are met. See the Golden Buddha Statue and the panoramic view of Mekong River.

Lunch served at local restaurant.

Experience with Boat Trip along the Mae Khong River, enjoy the view of Mekong River, the Golden Buddha Statue beside the Mae Khong River

Then visit Opium Museum, a small museum with historical displays pertaining to opium culture include all the various implements used in the planting, harvest and all information about how dangerous of opium.

DAY 07 : WHITE TEMPLE / CHIANG MAI HANDICRAFTS / DOI SUTHEP TEMPLE

Visit Rong Khun Temple (White Temple), designed by the famous national artist. The main temple building is a distinctive white color, decorated with fragments of reflective glass which can be seen from afar.

Then drive through scenery from Chiang Rai to Chiang Mai (03 hours drive) by road along picturesque scenic routes passes the several beautiful northern mountains.

Visit The Handicraft Center at Sankampaeng District. The highlight is to see the local people making handicrafts including Lacquer ware, Silverware, Hand-woven Textiles by silk and hand-painted cotton, fine Teak Wood Carving, and Umbrellas or paper parasols which are hand-painted in a variety designs.

Drive to Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep, which was built in 1383. It is located 15 kms from the city and 3,500 feet above sea level. See the marvelous golden pagoda, which contains the holy relics of Lord Buddha.

Enjoy the panoramic view of Chiang Mai City and Ping valley from the summit of Doi Suthep. Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep can be approached on foot by climbing 306 steep stairs, flanked by tremendous mythical Nagas, which symbolizes humanity's progress from earth to nirvana.

DAY 08 : CHIANG MAI ELEPHANT SAFARI + BAMBOO RAFTING / KHANTOKE DINNER

Travel to north of Chiang Mai route to Mae Taman Elephant Camp; explore the spectacular mountainous scenery along the way.

Watch Demonstrations of how trained elephants are used as working animals in teak forests. The show includes elephant bathing in the river, working in the jungle, elephant painting, dragging and pushing logs.

Elephant Ride through the beautiful mountain scenery and over hilly trails and take local farmer transportation Ox-Cart Ride, through rice fields.

Lunch served at the local restaurant.

Bamboo River Rafting cruise along the rural Mae Taeng, softly moving along the river while relaxing as the rafts men pole you down through farm houses and stunning green.

Visit the Orchid Nursery to see a large collection of more than 50 different types of colorful exotic year-round-bloom orchids.

Enjoy an evening of Welcome Khantoke Dinner, which is the traditional northern Thai (Lanna) form of dining. The food is served on a wooden pedestal tray, called Khantoke. The diners sit on the floor around the Khantoke, supported by triangular cushions.

The dishes are all northern Thai delicacies. While guest enjoy the meal there are usually performances of traditional northern Thai Lanna dances and music such as Fingernail dance, Sword dance, Candle dance, Ramwong dance and Firework displays.

Additionally, there are also hill tribe shows, which are performed by Akha, Lahu, Lisu, Yao, Meo and Karen hill tribes and music.

Then transfer back to hotel.

DAY 09 : CHIANG MAI DEPARTURE / KRABI ARRIVAL

Transfer to Chiang Rai Airport. You may also extend your stay in Chiang Mai and enjoy one of the many other exciting tours available.

Arrive Krabi Airport. Welcome and transfer to hotel by private transport. (30-45 minutes)
