LAMPHUN & LAMPANG - THE LANNA HISTORICAL CITY

Pick up from hotel lobby and depart to Lamphun Town by mountains road along picturesque scenic routes passing several beautiful northern scenery. Visit Phra that Hariphunchai Temple; the main Chedi is a nine tiered “Umbrella” made of gold and weighing almost 6.5 kg. In the courtyard is a large bronze Gong, believed to be the largest in the World.
Next visit to Ku Kut Temple (Chamadevi Temple); built in the year 1150 when Lamphun was the capital of the Mon Dvaravati Kingdom of Hariphunchai. The main Chedi has five levels which on each level has twelve Buddha’s in blessing attitudes.
Depart to Lampang Town (1 hours drive). On the way visit to Phrathat Lampang Luang Temple; the northern finest temple and best presentation of wooden Lanna style architecture.
Lunch served at the local restaurant.
Arrive to Lampang town and then explore the city with a unique colorful Horse Carriage, sightseeing around the city center passing the northern Thai & Burmese style house.
Visit to Baan Sao Nak, a 150 years old teak wooden house with combination of Myanmar and Northern Thai style. Since there are up to 116 planks of teak wood posts, this house is named “Baan Sao Nak”. The word “Nak”, in the local language, means “many”.
Continue to visit Phra Kaew Don Tao Temple, where the famous Emerald Buddha was enshrined for 32 years (from A.D. 1436 to 1468). The square hall near the Chedi is decorated with glass mosaic in typical Burmese style and contains a Mandalay-style Buddha image.
Then transfer back to Chiang Mai.
