Full Day
Private Chiang Rai sightseeing with local guide and transport.
Itinerary
Pick up from your hotel lobby and depart to Doi Tung, the highest mountain peak on the Thai-Myanmar border at 2,000 meters above sea level, once restored through the Doi Tung Development Project established in 1987 under the initiative of the King’s mother.
Visit Mae Fah Luang Garden, built in 1992 on a 12-rai plot, home to winter flowers and decorative plants that bloom in rotation through the seasons, then continue to the Royal Villa of the late Princess Mother, a striking combination of northern Thai and Swiss chalet architecture.
Lunch is provided at a local restaurant.
Depart to Mae Sai Town, on the Thailand-Myanmar border and Thailand’s northernmost point, where you can browse Myanmar products at the local market.
Continue to the Golden Triangle, where the borders of Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar meet. See the Golden Buddha statue and take in panoramic views of the Mekong River, then visit the Opium Museum, which tells the story of opium production in the Golden Triangle. Afterwards, return to your hotel.
