Mae Kok River Cruise, Chiang Rai Local Market & Samlor Ride

Half Day

Private Chiang Rai sightseeing with local guide and transport.

Itinerary

Pick up from your hotel lobby and depart to the Mae Kok River boat landing for a one-hour longtail boat cruise, passing a Karen Hill Tribe village where tribesmen traditionally raise and tame elephants for jungle work.

Continue to Wat Ming Mueang, originally built in the 14th century, destroyed by Burmese forces in the 16th century, and rebuilt in the 19th century in a blend of Thai and Burmese architectural styles.

Walk to Chiang Rai Local Market, the city’s largest fresh market, with dedicated sections for produce, meat, seafood, cooked food, and souvenirs.

Climb aboard a classic trishaw (Samlor) for a ride along the local streets to the King Mengrai Monument, honouring the ruler who founded Chiang Rai and the Lanna kingdom. Afterwards, return to your hotel.
