Explore Warorot, Chiang Mai Gate and Chang Puak Gate markets for a lively introduction to the city’s street food, Northern Thai flavours and favourite desserts.
Itinerary
Pick up from your hotel lobby and depart to explore Chiang Mai’s top three street food markets, starting at Warorot Market, the city’s largest local market, selling everything from clothing and textiles to fruits, herbs, flowers, vegetables, and local food.
Continue to Chiang Mai Gate Market, the southern entrance to the old city and its main food street, lined with stalls and simple carts.
Visit Chang Puak Gate Market, the northern entrance gate and a well-known local landmark, centered around dinner-time food vendors.
Along the way, sample local favorites such as sai ua (Northern Thai sausage), pad Thai, khanom jeen (rice noodles in spicy sauce), stewed pork leg on rice, khanom krok (Thai coconut pudding), mango sticky rice, and other Thai desserts including doughnuts with sweet soy milk and freshly made roti.
